The world premiere of this wacky new comedy follows the adventures of Madame Gufay, a late-in-life French foreign-exchange student, who's become fascinated with Cal Berkeley's historic free-speech movement of 1964. Now, some 50 years later, she arrives on campus determined to experience it all, starting her own student group, Madame Gufay's Free Speech Lovelutionaries, marching on Sproul Plaza, and coming up against the administration and academia as she and her troops push for peace and social justice. Actors Ensemble of Berkeley stages this production of Norah Foster's new play.
