Staged inside a vast cube suspended over the stage at San Francisco's Geary Theater, Needles and Opium follows jazz legend Miles Davis on his 1949 travels to Europe, where he discovers the pleasures of Paris, unlocks his creativity and finds his heroine in Juliette Gréco. At the same time, French filmmaker Jean Cocteau embarks on his own opium-fueled journey of discovery to New York.
