What would A Christmas Carol look like if Charles Dickens had written the Yuletide tale in 2015? Maybe something like Kathryn G. McCarty's (Not) A Christmas Carol. In this modern, comedy adaptation of the holiday classic at Martinez Campbell Theatre, the issues of poverty and greed that Dickens wrote about nearly 200 years ago are still front and center -- and now Ebeneezer Scrooge is the leader of the world's first Oil and Bank Consortium. Just as Dickens used his story to examine 1843 English society, so too does McCarty touch on the hot topics of today.
