Catch a California Shakespeare Theater production of George Bernard Shaw's sharp-witted satire, staged outdoors at the beautiful Bruns Amphitheater. It's the still-relevant tale of arrogant dialect expert Henry Higgins, who sets out to transform Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower girl, into a society lady. But he doesn't count on his "creation" having a mind of her own. First produced in 1912, Pygmalion pretty much changed pop culture forever. Not only did it inspire the classic musical My Fair Lady, but you could also say that it kicked off the entire Extreme Makeover genre. It's also a great battle-of-the-sexes and social-class comedy.
