Sexual Perversity in Chicago
Beverly Hills Playhouse San Francisco Theatre
414 Mason St #502 San Francisco
Outrageously funny and provocative, Sexual Perversity in Chicago was the spark that ignited David Mamet's career. Bernie, Dan, Deb and Joan struggle with shrinking circles of friend, day jobs and mounting pressures to find a partner and settle down in this hilarious (and brutal) look at what happens when sexual and gender chaos reigns. Mamet's cynical comedy displays his command of lightning-quick comic banter, while skewering the antics of his subjects. Directed by Robert Zimmerman in this Beverly Hills Playhouse SF production, the play was adapted into the 1986 film About Last Night..., starring Demi Moore and Rob Lowe.
