  Sylvia at Barn Theatre

Sylvia

Barn Theatre
30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd Ross

When unhappy middle-aged guy Greg crashes into a midlife crisis, he decides to adopt Sylvia, an energetic stray dog (played by a human). His relationship with his wife Kate suffers for the spontaneous decision, so family and friends new and old sit him down for some counseling. In this romantic comedy by A.R. Gurney, the author of Love Letters, the long-married empty nesters have to dig their way out of an unexpected hole, in which Kate feels like she's losing Greg's affection to his new best friend. This imaginative take on a midlife crisis leads to lots of laughs and insightful thoughts on love, marriage, jealousy and canines. Sit, stay and roll over (on the floor laughing) when Sylvia hits the Barn Theatre stage in Ross.
