A shadowy tour of imagined tribes and their marital customs, Christopher Chen draws inspiration from fabulist writer Italo Calvino for his new work The Late Wedding. Calvino was known for his dream-like stories Invisible Cities and If on a Winter's Night a Traveler, which Chen uses as a launching pad into an exploration of dislocation and transience in internet-age relationships. Told by unreliable narrators, The Late Wedding chips away at the mystery of modern relationships and ultimately becomes an insightful journey inward. Chen's award-winning The Hundred Flowers Project was lauded by Bay Area critics.
