Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) is a nonprofit multidisciplinary arts organization that creates, presents and explores today’s multidisciplinary art with diverse artists, institutions and communities. YBCA also offers its state-of-the-art facilities to corporations, associations and nonprofit arts organizations for a variety of events. All venues are wheelchair accessible. YBCA consists of two landmark buildings: the Galleries and Forum Building designed by Japanese architect, Fumihiko Maki and The Lam Research (formerly the Novellus) Theater by American architect James Stewart Polshek. The Galleries and Forum Building houses three event spaces: the Forum, Screening Room and Grand Lobby. Lam Research Theater contains a 757-seat theater and the Theater Terrace Lobby. Both stylish contemporary buildings are located along the west side of Third Street between Mission and Howard in downtown San Francisco and are adjacent to the Moscone Convention Center and the beautiful urban oasis of Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco’s South of Market District.
