A rare box-office flop for Disney when it was first released in movie theaters in 1992, Newsies made headlines by becoming a cult hit on home video. And since the Mouse House knows a little something about turning a film into a Broadway smash (see: The Lion King and Mary Poppins), Newsies hit the stage in 2012 featuring eight new songs and never looked back.
