Patterns
Dennis Gallagher Arts Pavilion
66 Page St. San Franisco
A powerful and one-of-a-kind theatrical experience, Patterns weaves video, acting, song and dance together with a series of dramatic and comic vignettes that pose intriguing questions about the state of love today. As three separate wall-size projections surround the audience with an awe-inspiring panoramic view, performance artist Amy Munz performs live on stage, embodying eight different characters to deliver an emotional, energetic and unforgettable show. Composed of two parts -- "For Some Reason" and "It Really Tickled Me" -- Patterns examines love through the story of a butcher's daughter, Amot, who falls in love and eventually, tragically, suffers a stroke that causes a rupture in her sense of continuity. The premiere of this new comedy-drama challenges the audience to question whether or not the ones we love can ever truly be understood.
